請柬(Invitation Cards)又稱請貼或邀請書，廣泛應用於日常生活以及外事活動中。例如：舉行婚禮、宴會、舞會、茶話會、招待會及重大活動的開幕式和閉幕式等。
請柬一般分為正式和非正式兩種。正式請柬的書寫格式比較嚴謹，用詞顯得規范，行文應該簡潔。非正式請柬可用邀請信或一般便箋代替。
正式請柬一般包括以下內容：賓主姓名（邀請人與被邀請人姓名）、客套話、活動時間、內容、地點以及說明或附註。
賓主姓名一律採用第三人稱，姓名一般不採用首字母的縮寫形式。夫婦同時具名時，通常「先生」寫在其「夫人」前。
英語請柬中的邀請套語「Request the pleasure of the company of」,相當於漢語中的「敬請光臨」字樣。
宴會性的活動內容，例如：橋牌(Bridge)，雞尾酒會(Cocktails)，茶會(Tea Party)，舞會(Ball)等一般不出現在請柬的正文中，應在請柬的左下角註明。
時間除了使用年、月、日及鍾點外，還應註明星期幾。時間不用阿拉伯數字寫。請柬通常應提前一二周甚至三周發出。寫請柬的日期一般不寫在請柬上。
